The URI Alumni Center Endowment
At URI, we celebrate our alumni and their achievements, and over the years, Alumni Association presidents have worked toward the goal of giving alumni a proper place to come home to. Thanks to their efforts and funding provided by the state and the Alumni Association, their vision has become a reality.
The URI Alumni Center is designed to offer meeting and reception space in a gracious and comfortable setting and office suites for the Alumni Association and the Division of University Advancement.
The 21,000-square-foot Alumni Center, completed in spring 2005, is located at 73 Upper College Road on the site of the former Sigma Chi fraternity house, between the URI Foundation building and the International Engineering Program house. The three-story structure provides a welcoming environment for alumni returning to campus and well-designed office space for more than 60 Alumni Association and Advancement staff members.
To provide funds for furnishings, and other interior and exterior enhancements, an endowment has been established so that the Center remains an inviting home for alumni. It is our goal that interest generated from this endowment will provide constant, regular income, and will ensure the permanent availability of funds for the maintenance and enhancement of the Alumni Center.
