Getting Involved

Here are some of the opportunities for getting involved with your Alumni Association and for staying connected with the University of Rhode Island and your fellow alumni.

Alumni CenterAlumni Association Executive Board
Serve the Alumni Association by working on its Executive Board. Board members are elected by their peers and work to provide leadership, representation, and creative ideas to the Alumni Association.

Alumni chapters
Join an alumni chapter in your area. URI alumni chapters are organized both by location and affinity interest, and are a great way to stay connected with URI, to see old classmates, and to meet new friends.

Alumni committees
Join one of the volunteer committees that work to plan events and further the goals of the Alumni Association. Committees are a great way to meet fellow alumni and work together to make a difference for your alma mater.

Alumni of Color Coalition

Attend events designed to bring together URI alumni, students, staff, and faculty of color. These oppportunities include career networking events, professional and personal mentoring, social gatherings, and community service and outreach.

Career services
Become a mentor or take advantage of a variety of resources offered through the URI Office of Career Services.

Young AlumniEvents
Attend regularly scheduled alumni events, special programs or regional events. Alumni are also invited to take part in the life of the University by attending campus cultural and athletic events, which are listed in the University calendar.

Membership
Become a part of the URI Alumni Association. Enjoy the many benefits of membership and have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping support URI's Alumni Association scholarships and making a difference in the future of the University.

Social Networking

The Alumni Relations Office, on behalf of the URI Alumni Association, manages the online presence of URI Alumni Association via the popular social networking communities MySpace, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Women's Council for Development
Join with alumnae, faculty, and staff to enhance the role of URI alumnae and undergraduate women. Participate in a variety of opportunities and networking programs, share career knowledge, serve as a mentor, and support scholarship efforts sponsored by the Women's Council for Development.
