Frequently Asked Questions

I did not request your esubscriptions. Why am I receiving them?
As a matter of policy, when we have a valid email address for an alum, we automatically add them to our esubscriptions list. We understand that some alumni may choose to unsubscribe and provide that option at the bottom of every esubscription we send. We follow the same policy with printed materials. When we have a valid postal mailing address for an alum, we automatically send them QUAD ANGLES, our quarterly alumni magazine.

Can I receive your esubscriptions if I am not an alum?
Yes, nonalumni can receive our esubscriptions by entering their email address at www.advance.uri.edu/eservices/default.asp and choosing a password of their choice.

If I change my address in My Profile, will it automatically be updated in the URI Online Alumni Directory as well?
Yes, if you change your postal or email address in My Profile or the URI Online Alumni Directory, that information will be automatically shared within a week.

Can I use the same password to log in to the Advancement Services site and the URI Online Community, which includes the Alumni Directory, Yellow Pages, and Message Boards?
Yes, you need to register and log in separately, but you may use the same password if you’d like.

Is my information secure?
Yes, your information is secure. The Alumni Association does not provide address lists to the public. Only the URI Alumni Association and its approved partners have access to your information.

Who are the approved partners with whom you share information?

Can I hide my address in the URI Online Alumni Directory?
Yes, you can hide your address, but you must complete the registration process in order to do so.
