Profile in Giving

Last October, URI President Robert L. Carothers hosted a luncheon at his home to recognize the donors and recipients of four College of Arts and Sciences scholarships, including the Mary Braga Scholarship, the Dodd Family Scholarship, the Brett Santoro Memorial Scholarship, and the George Wiley Memorial Scholarship.

The dining room buzzed with lively conversation as benefactors and scholars got to know each other. It was a great opportunity for donors to see and hear first-hand how their support influences the lives of students and enriches the University.

It was also an opportunity to remember two alumni, Brett Santoro '97 and George Wiley '53, both of whom have been memorialized at the University through scholarships established by their families. These, like all of the University's scholarships, have a story to tell and a legacy that grows throughout the years with every new recipient.
