 It’s no secret that the Internet has changed the way we communicate. We’re taking advantage of the latest advances in this technology to stay in touch with alumni and supporters. ALUMNI ONLINE DIRECTORY GOES LIVE! More than 1,300 alumni have already registered for the new URI Online Alumni Directory. Have you? With the URI Online Alumni Directory, you can search for friends and former classmates using a variety of criteria, such as class year and geographic area. Best of all, it’s free! Your information is in a secure, password-protected online database. For your own privacy, you can choose to hide all or part of your data at any time. To access, modify, or hide your record, you need to register at alumniconnections.com/rhodeisland. The Online Alumni Directory is part of URI’s new Alumni Online Community, which includes links to URI events and merchandise. For those of you who answered our first online poll, the Message Board feature was the number one requested addition to our URI Alumni Online Community. Watch over the next few months as we roll out the URI Message Board! ALUMNI CENTER PROJECT NOW ONLINE. Read all about the new home for URI alumni scheduled for completion in the fall of 2003 at advance.uri.edu/alumni/alumnicenter. The new Alumni Center at the University of Rhode Island will be a home away from home for URI alumni. The 20,000-square-foot Alumni Center will offer meeting and reception space in a gracious and comfortable setting, as well as office suites for the Alumni Association and Division of University Advancement. BUILDING FOR A BETTER FUTURE AT URI. The URI Convocation Center is scheduled to open this June. When the URI Ice Arena opens this fall, it will be one of only two ice rinks in Rhode Island to operate year round.
