Fine Arts Center Galleries Winter-Spring 2005 MAIN GALLERY Tuesday-Friday noon-4 p.m., evenings 7:30-9:30 p.m.; Saturday&Sunday 1-4 p.m. January 27-March 6 From the Error Engine: Lutz Hamel, Judd Morrissey, Lori Talley&“Body Language,” an exhibition within the exhibition by Karen Shaw Lutz Hamel, Judd Morrissey, and Lori Talley, a collaborative team based in Chicago, examine the potential for installing complex temporal structures within digital narrative, and the role of machines in their authorship. Lutz Hamel, who teaches computer science at URI, is an expert in machine learning and evolutionary computing. Karen Shaw, an artist based in New York City, is involved in mixed media and collage derived from conceptual word and number games. Gallery reception on Sunday, January 30 from 2-4 p.m. March 31-May 10 Annual Juried Student Exhibition Juried annually by an outside expert, this special exhibition features all media currently taught at the Department of Art, from drawing through the latest digital technologies.
